Curated by Breeanne Saxton, O.C.T. hosts local and visiting dance/ movement practitioners to teach master classes as well as sustained community classes.

These classes are designed for intermediate to professional dancers intending to deepen and expand their technical, improvisation, and performance practices in addition to serving as a meeting ground for Salt Lake City and Utah dancers to connect, grow, and inspire one another.

Stay tuned for a wider range of class offerings including beginning adult modern, Butoh, Acting for Dancers, and more classes coming soon!

OCT is currently taking a hiatus from hosting classes until further notice. Check back soon to see what classes we’re hosting!

An emphasis is placed on the practice of contemporary technique as it relates to dynamic choice making, whole body movement, and personal expression. This class will offer participants a deeper knowledge of the body and its inter-workings with awareness placed on easeFULL dancing/learning, core mobility (with stability) and spinal articulation. Participants can also expect a stimulating, multi-sensory environment that encourages functional alignment and length without creating excess muscular tension.

This class aims to train and foster adaptability in one’s dancing – promoting vitality, resilience and expansion (physically, energetically, spatially and communally). Within class, we will honor our proclivities and what “feels good” while simultaneously challenging what we avoid or resist (with an intention to not overly attach to either). We will grow our technical range dimensionally; we will work hard, sweat together, laugh, and share our movement.
