The final installment in a four part series that researched the communal construction of identity, this two part work began with a durational installation and followed with a performance. This work premiered in 2015 at the Photo Collective in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Using repetition and the compositional tool of canon as a structural framework, we composed a shared identity between three women and the audience around them. The performers pulled imagery, energy, and validation from the audience and each other with an unyeilding outward gaze. Their inability to look inward perpetuated their loss of identity and progressive motion leading them to stagnation.
